Science Fiction Models

Spaceship LUNA Spaceship LUNA
From the 1950 movie "Destination Moon", George Pal's atomic powered LUNA Spaceship.
This is a scaled-down version of the excellent downloadable freebie (designed by JAYO) on the smartgroups papermodelers discussion group website..

MARS1 MARS1 Rocketship
As seen in the 1951 movie "Flight To Mars"
This was originally supposed to be used in "Destination Moon", but they used George Pal's "LUNA" design instead. This same ship was also used in "World Without End", "Queen Of Outer Space", and several other 1950's movies. MARS1 is based on Bonstell's original LUNA1 ship (not George Pal's LUNA).
I built this ship using scaled down (then reversed) parts from Currel's V1 BuzzBomb for the fuselage and adding my own wings/fins.

HORTEN Ho 229 Flying Wing HORTEN Ho 229 Flying Wing
In spite of the fact that only two prototypes were actually completed and flown, the Horten brothers' all-wing, jetpowered fighter, initially known as the H IX, was high on the list of fighters officially sanctioned for continued development, production and even operational deployment to a specific Luftwaffe unit. On September 21, 1944, the first forty production Ho 229 A-1s were ordered. The Ho 229 V1 was captured at Leipzig. The Ho 229 V3, which was under construction at the end of the war, was also seized, and was subsequently shipped to the USA for evaluation.

Morane-Saulnier 'N' Bullet Morane-Saulnier 'N' Bullet
This aicraft was a very early single winged scout (1914) that evolved from a racing aeroplane of the day. Great for racing but disastrous as a Scout because pilots were so preoccupied with worry about landing the darn thing, they found it impossible to concentrate on the fighting. The Bullet was one of the first aeroplanes to have a gun that could, most always, fire through the propeller. Look for the little bullet deflectors on the model's propeller. WWII Russian fighter.

XF-85 Goblin McDonnell XF-85 Goblin
The XF-85 parasite aircraft was developed to protect B-36 bombers flying beyond the range of conventional escort fighters. In theory, a B-36 penetrating enemy territory would carry its protecting fighter in the bomb bay. If attacked by enemy aircraft, the bomber would lower the Goblin on a trapeze and release it to combat the attackers. After the enemy had been driven away, the parasite fighter would return to the bomber, hook onto the trapeze, fold its wings, and be lifted back into the bomb bay.
